Literature in school books are rife with the biases of history. And as history may have it, this has led to the systematic repressed recognition of women scientists. In an effort to create a repository of women role models in academia, recognize the challenges for underpresented communities in science today, and discuss remedial measures, Silent Scribbles was established. The name 'Silent Scribbles' is inspired by the silent toil of academicians like Cecelia Payne who worked in anonymity to further the limits of our knowledge. We are currently working with 3 journalists, 1 editor, 1 illustrator and 1 web administartor. This is apart from Sristy and me who contribute to the administrative framework.
